Change in labour legislation

With effect from 1 January 2001, article 49-3 of the Labour Code of Ukraine has been cancelled. Accordingly, employers are no longer obliged to pay the compensation of up to three average monthly salaries to employees dismissed due to "changes in organisation of production and labour" (article 40, paragraph 1 of the Labour Code). Normally, this would include staff reduction due to reorganisation, restructuring, etc.
